Smorgasburg LA Job Description

Smorgasburg LA is looking for part time event staff to join our fun and hard working team! We are a weekly food and shopping market that happens every Sunday in DTLA featuring over 60 vendors, live DJs, a beer and wine garden, and more. 

Part-Time Event Production Staff Position is one day a week: Every Sunday 6am-6pm. Pay is a day rate of $210, and you will be required to fill out a W-4 and an I-9. There is potential for advancement. 

Event Production Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Set up and break down of the market, including moving and placing heavy picnic tables, benches, tents, barricades, etc
• Basic Customer Service tasks, while the market is open, including answering questions, selling merchandise, problem solving, crowd control, etc.

Ideal applicant will...
• Be available every single Sunday
• Have no problem getting to work on time early in the morning
• Have a positive attitude
• Enjoy being outdoors
• Be able and willing to do physically taxing work, including the lifting and moving of heavy objects every week
• Be able to deal with the public with a happy and positive attitude
• Be able to follow instructions, but also take initiative when the situation calls for it
• Be eager and willing to take on more responsibility as time goes on, and grow with the company
• Take pride in what we do every single Sunday
• Have passion for what the market and our vendors have to offer
• Have experience in outdoor events, festival and/or event production... but it's not 100% necessary. The most important thing is just being dependable and willing to take on any task. 
• Management or leadership leadership a plus
• Social media savviness a plus
